I\'m 47 and have recently suffered from overtraining. I\'m sure it can happen at any age, but the older you are the easier I assume. I was really pushing myself with some heavy weights every 2-3 days. Also, I was exercising all muscle groups. And I was doing a scaled down version of the Peak 8 program on a treadmill for cardio. At the same time, I had some emotional issues (family matters) going on. Over time, my digestive system health declined and I had all sorts of digestive problems. On top of that, there were days of muscle tension, nervousness and some episodes of severe fatigue. I could never figure out why all this was happening because I ate good, was exercising and got enough sleep. Finally, it struck me that my nervous issues would worsen a couple of days after my workout and then get better. I\'m taking a break from the heavy weights and cardio and doing a light program. If you don\'t have a \"knowledgeable\" trainer, or no trainer at all (like me), don\'t overdo it. It can, as this article states, have serious repercussions on your health.

Here there is a good information how to overcome the risks of over trained to build a good body.there are excellent points how to reduce over training risks.really very good they even gave if over trained on which parts it effects.so every one can understand what will happen if over trained.
though it seems hard to follow but good to practice.

Excellent points in over-training. For a hardgainer, it can be tough not to be tempted to overtrain.
